Pre-Kindergarten
Registration
Pre-Kindergarten registration is scheduled to take place at the Manheim Central District Office on Wednesday, May 7th, 2025 (subject to change). More information on scheduling and times will be forthcoming. For questions, please call 717-664-8526.
Prospective Students
Prospective students must be 4 years old by August 31st and will undergo a screening process to determine eligibility, as the program has a limited number of available spots. Students who are not selected will be added to a waiting list and will be contacted if a spot becomes available.
The Manheim Central Pre-Kindergarten program runs from 8:15-11:00 a.m., on days when the Manheim Central School District is in session. There is no district-provided transportation for Pre-K students. Parents are responsible for transportation to and from school.
Student drop-off and pick-up will take place off Scout Alley, past the Scout Building, and to the side of Baron Elementary. Watch for signs to direct you. Inquire at one of the open houses if you are unsure.
Schedule
On scheduled early release days, dismissal occurs at 10:30 a.m. If there is a two-hour delay due to the inclement weather, the Pre-K session runs from 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
Beginning of year schedule:
Day 1: Students will visit the classroom with a parent or an adult helper to complete a scavenger hunt to familiarize themselves with the classroom.
Day 2: Half of the class attends school.
Day 3: The other half of the class attends.
Day 4: The whole class attends.
Regular attendance is expected and essential. Students who are absent 10 consecutive days will be withdrawn from the program, unless a doctor’s excuse is provided.
