PSAT and SAT Information

Manheim Central High School is hosting the PSATs and SATs this school year on the following dates listed below. All tests will be administered during the school day at the Manheim Central Farm Show Building from 7:30 – Noon. Please register and submit payment in the MCHS Guidance Office. If paying by check, on the memo line, write SAT or PSAT and date of test administration. Office Hours: Monday – Thursday, 7:00am – 4:15pm.
• SAT – 12th Grade – Wednesday, September 23, 2020. Cost $52.00
• SAT – 12th Grade – Wednesday, October 14, 2020. Cost $52.00
• PSAT/NMSQT (National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test) – 11th Grade – Wednesday, October 28, 2020. Cost to MCHS students - $5.00
• SAT – 11th Grade – Wednesday, March 24th, 2021. Cost $52.00
• PSAT10 – 10th Grade – Wednesday, April 21st, 2021. Cost to MCHS students - $5.00
 
Satisfactory Completion of the PSATs and/or SATs will also qualify a student to graduate on Pennsylvania State Graduation Pathway #4 if a student does not meet graduation pathway #1 or #2. See below for information on Pennsylvania’s Graduation Pathways.
 
Pennsylvania State Graduation Pathways
Pathway #1: Scoring proficient or advanced on each Keystone Exam – Algebra 1, Biology and Literature.
Pathway #2: Earn a satisfactory Composite Score on the Algebra 1, Biology and Literature Keystone Exams. To meet the composite score requirement students must:
• Score proficient on at least 1 exam
• Score basic on the remaining exam(s)
• Combined score must be greater than or equal to 4,452
 
Pathway #3: After a minimum of one unsuccessful attempt, students will be required to earn a passing grade in the courses associated with each Keystone Exam (Algebra 1, Biology, 10th Grade Literature or concurrent course), AND pass the National Occupational Competency Testing Institute (NOCTI) or the National Institute of Metalworking Skills (NIMS) assessment in an approved Career and Technical Education concentration with a written and performance score of ‘Competent’ or ‘Advanced’.
 
Pathway #4: After a minimum of one unsuccessful attempt, students will be required to earn a passing grade in the courses associated with each Keystone Exam (Algebra 1, Biology and 10th Grade Literature or concurrent course), AND satisfactorily complete the following alternate assessments: ASVAB (Minimum Score = 31), PSAT (Minimum Score = 970), SAT (Minimum Score = 1010) or ACT (Minimum Composite Score = 21).
 
Pathway #5: After a minimum of one unsuccessful attempt, students will be required to earn a passing grade in the courses associated with each Keystone Exam (Algebra 1, Biology and 10th Grade Literature or concurrent course), AND demonstrate readiness for postsecondary engagement through three pieces of evidence from the student’s career portfolio aligned to student goals and career plan. Examples of evidence include a job shadowing experience, internship, work study, or co-op placement.
